The Antics are out to prove that they are not just a flash in the pan indie rock band. The group has just released an EP, When I'm Alone, with two brand new singles.

The Antics are made up of Luke Meisenbacher and Josh Reitan and were not always known as The Antics. The duo started working together and making music back in 2009 but it was in 2012 that they decided on a new band name and a new musical direction. The band also added two new members, Ryan Ashe (guitar) and Chris Seeland (bass), to really round out their developing post-punk sound.

This EP features two singles, "When I'm Alone" and "Transmission." "When I'm Alone" starts off slow and features the subtly of an electric guitar, the song transitions into the bands full sound that really showcases their musical talent. The sound is catchy and does have a strong post-punk sound. The lyrics and vocals are introduced and help to create a more clear direction for the band. The downside to this single is that the lyrics aren't fully developed and feel second rate to the instrumentals.

Following "When I'm Alone" is "Transmission." "Transmission" has more energy and a more punk vibe to the track, making it the stand out of the two on the EP. The instrumentals that are featured could be heard on a Red Hot Chili Peppers or Foo Fighters album. Once agin the vocals and lyrics just fall short and feel like a high school rock band compared to a professional music group.

As a band, The Antics have all of the pieces together that could result in a great album but EP lacks to put everything together. The Antics have the ability to reach for greatness which comes across on this EP, with time and more attention to details on their next record, success is likely to follow.
