Willie Nelson will be celebrating America's independence in style with his annual Independence Day concert which will feature Eric Church and Kacey Musgraves.

Rolling Stone reported that the first Independence Day concert hosted by Nelson and his family took place back in 1973. Now the event is back in Austin for the first time in five years and will feature a number of country artists along with Church and Musgraves.

Also included on the lineup is; Merle Haggard, Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson, Jason Isbell, Leon Russell, Billy Joe Shaver, Chris Stapleton and Ray Wylie Hubbard. The concert will also be a family affair as Lukas and Micah Nelson will also be performing.

Nelson released a statement about why he puts on this event and how excited he was with the talent that would be taking the stage in Austin.

"I got the idea from Woodstock about how music could bring people from different places together," explained Nelson. "I had just moved to Austin and had come to realize what a great music center it was and could be. I thought it would be a nice idea to this year have it back in Austin."
