One person has died and another was injured in a Lamborghini crash at a Walt Disney World Speedway in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on Sunday.

WFLA reported that the crash, which killed Gary Terry, 36, of Davenport and injured driver Tavon Watson, 24, happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

The driver "failed to maneuver the vehicle through the course," said Sgt. Kim Montes, of the Florida Highway Patrol.

It appears that he then lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail, FHP authorities added.

Terry died at the scene and Watson was taken to an area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

Customers pay anywhere from $200 to $400 to drive around the course in flashy, fast sports cars such as Lamborghinis, Porsches and Ferraris with a professional driving instructor. The course, however, is set to close this summer for an unrelated reason.

News 13 noted that after the crash Petty Holdings LLC released the following statement:

β€œOn behalf of everyone in the organization, it is with a very heavy heart that we extend our deepest sympathies to those involved in today's tragic accident in Orlando.”
