A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Carson in Southern California on Thursday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the tremor hit just two miles from Carson and less than 15 miles away from downtown Los Angeles around 7:00 a.m. local time.

Several media outlets reported that the quake was a magnitude of 3.6, however, that was later downgraded by the USGS.

Geological Survey seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones told KTLA that the agency’s website has been flooded with hundreds of reports of people who said they had felt it. Many residents in Inglewood, Lakewood, Torrance, Whittier and LA said that they felt the quake.

So far, there have not been any reports of injuries or structural damage.

This quake was the second to hit California is as many days. The Los Angeles Times noted that the USGS said another 3.4 magnitude quake hit near Big Pine on Wednesday morning. In addition, there was another quake measuring greater than 3.0 on the Richter scale in the area over the last 10 days.
