Authorities said that four people near Tulsa, Oklahoma have been found dead in what is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
The Associated Press reported that police found the bodies of Sudheer Khamitkar, 42, Smita Haval Khamitkar, 38, and their sons Arnav Khamitkar, 10 and Arush Khamitkar, 6, in the family home. They had all been shot to death.
Reuters noted that law enforcement officials went to home for a welfare check after they received a call from one of the parent’s employers saying they did not show up for work.
The bodies had likely been dead for two days before the grim discovery was made.
Sgt. Shane Tuell said that the crime is being looked at as a murder-suicide and that they believe the father fatally shot his wife and children.
"Right now we still don't know the motive behind the murder-suicide," Tuell said.
The investigation is ongoing while police try to uncover if the patriarch had any personal problems as friends and neighbors have said that they were unaware of any issues.
