Authorities in Alabama are investigating whether or not some brownies that sickened employees from the Baldwin County District Attorney’s office were laced with pot.
AL.com reported that at least two employees with District Attorney Hallie Dixon's office fell ill after eating the brownies and now the treats are being investigated to determine if they were laced.
Tammy Toler, a spokeswoman for the DA said that since the tests are not back yet, there is no evidence or any way to say what the brownies were laced with.
WALA noted that Dixon herself reiterated what Toler said.
“Until we get tests back, we don't want to say for sure what drug it was, but it was something in the brownies that has made them sick and the symptoms are consistent yes, with the edible marijuana issues,” Dixon admitted.
Toler added a few more details about the brownies in question saying that they were not made by anyone at the office, but presented by a temporary courthouse employee before a trial.
The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the case and will determine if and what charges can be filed.
