Blues legend B.B. King said this afternoon that he is heading home after a stint in the hospital for diabetes-related symptoms. He also thanked his fans for their concern.
A quote attributed to King was posted on his Facebook page. “I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes. I'm feeling much better & am leaving the hospital today,” King said.
As reported earlier today, King was hospitalized for dehydration connected to his Type II diabetes. His daughter, Claudette, assured fans that he was doing “much better” this morning.
King is 89 and has been constantly touring for six decades. However, he was forced to cancel a tour in October after he got ill during a show. He does not have any tour dates scheduled for this year.
King’s last album was the Grammy-winning One Kind Favor in 2008. He performed “Sweet Home Chicago” with President Obama in 2012.
