Since nothing can be kept as a surprise anymore, we now know what The Vision will look like in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The first image of the synthezoid was released today and it doesn’t look that different from the comic book incarnation.

The image was shared over at Entertainment Weekly, which also delved into the characters history. In Age of Ultron, The Vision will still be Ultron’s creation. He’s not exactly an android, but a synthezoid, a different kind of artificial life. Since Wonder Man and the mechanical Human Torch from the 1930s aren’t in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (yet), it will be interesting to see who Whedon works the character into the film.

The Vision will be voiced by Paul Bettany, who is also the voice of Tony Stark’s virtual butler, JARVIS. So is there supposed to be a connection there? “It’s not coincidence,” Whedon told EW.

EW also reveals some other spoilers about the film’s plot, but there’s still some questions about The Vision. After all, Marvel has to keep something a surprise to audiences.

As reported early today, early tracking for Age of Ultron shows that the film is going to debut with over $200 million after it opens on May 1. By then, we’ll all know more about The Vision.
