A tragic accident in Washington State left a young couple and their baby boy dead after a concrete slab fell from an under pass onto their vehicle.
The Associated Press reported that Monday, around 10:30 a.m. local time, construction workers were putting down a sidewalk on the overpass when a piece of the concrete fell onto the roadway below. The large struck a pickup truck killing all three passengers inside.
The accident happened in Bonney Lake which is about 30 miles away from Seattle.
KIRO 7 reported that the victims were identified as two young ministers Josh and Vanessa Ellis, both in their 20s and their son Hudson, who was between 6 and 8-months-old.
The community and congregation are mourning the loss of life. And, for law enforcement officials who responded to the scene, the sight of the deceased family was very tough to take in as well.
"It hits us all, we all have families, we all have children of our own, so to see something like this is rough," said Todd Green with Bonney Lake Police Department.
A candlelight vigil remembering the family is set for Tuesday evening.
