A mountain lion that has become a celebrity in Southern California has taken shelter under a Los Angeles home and wildlife officials are working tirelessly to remove the large cat.

According to TIME, the animal known as P-22, became famous after he was photographed by the National Geographic lurking near the Hollywood sign. On Monday, P-22 wandered away from his usual territory in the Santa Monica Mountains and decided to camp out underneath the house of Jason and Paula Archinaco, but he hasn’t left yet.

Scientists are positive that it’s the famous feline because he has a GPS around his neck that tracks his movements.

NBCLA noted that technicians working at the couple’s home on an alarm system were shocked when they noticed the big cat in a crawlspace.

"(The technician) came face-to-face with it, and he was horrified, and who can blame him? My husband said he came running through the house white-faced," Paula Archinano explained.

Her husband said that the cat weighs about 150 pounds.

California Fish and Wildlife officials tried to urge P-22 out of the space with a pole and tennis balls, they even tried firing bean bags shots around the area to get him out. However, he is exhibiting some male diva behavior by not cooperating. If he continues to refuse come out, they may just have to wait for him to move out on his own when he’s ready.
