Disney is just starting production on the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie and, thanks to Josh Gad, we already have a cast photo.
Gad, who is playing Gaston’s sidekick Le Fou, posted a picture of the cast on Instagram, with Emma Watson, who plays Belle, front and center. You can also spot Luke Evans, who is playing Gaston, joining in on the fun. “Can’t wait for you to be our guest,” Gad wrote.
Other members of the cast include Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Kevin Kline, Audra McDonald, Emma Thompson and Dan Stevens as the Beast. One of the key roles that is still open in Lumiere.
beauty and the Beast hits theaters on May 17, 2017 and will be a musical. It is being directed by Dreamgirls’ Bill Condon, who just finished Mr. Holmes with McKellen in the title role.
Of course, this is the latest Disney remake of an animated classic. The studio just released Cinderella this year and is currently working on Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book, which opens in 2016.
