The Fast and the Furious just won't stop!
With the incredible success of The Fast and the Furious franchise, it's no surprise that there will be a Furious 8. According to E! News, Ludacris admitted to them that there was talk of making a Furious 8, but at that time nothing had been confirmed. Well, Furious Fans, it’s now confirmed with a scheduled release date of April 14, 2014.
Previously, we reported that the Furious 7 director, James Wan, had a contract option for this latest sequel, but it is not yet known if he will fulfill that role.
US Weekly shared the news that Vin Diesel will be returning, but it is unknown as to which of the other cast members will be reprising their roles. Other popular Furious actors include, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Jordana Brewster and Tyrese Gibson. Even Ludacris may make a come back.
Despite the fact that Diesel expressed his view that Furious 7 was the biggest movie and worthy of winning Best Picture at the Oscars, that wasn't enough't enough. He recently made a statement during CinemaCon that with Furious 8 they're going to "make the best movie you've ever seen."
Can it get any better than the the film that grossed 143.6 million in its opening weekend? We can only wait and see.
