Next week The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be arriving in theaters and James Spader is providing the voice to the menacing artificial intelligence villain himself, Ultron.
Spader said the process of being involved in Marvel happened very quickly. "“I really had no idea what was going on, it all happened really, really quickly," explained Spader. He said he arrived on set in London and moments later he was in a suit. "Within 15 minutes I was watching me walk around moving and doing this or that, and watching a formulative stage of Ultron on a monitor in front of me.”
New York Daily News reported that Spader was on set for motion capture work and the camera always had a close up on his face. "Every second I was on the set, I had a close-up shot on my face," said Spader. "On the motion capture stage they were recording all the time. And then even when I was doing (voice-work) in post-production, they were recording my face and my body."
Director Joss Whedon explained that he loved the character of Ultron because he was so physically, intellectually and extraordinarily imposing and he could self-replicate.
Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. and Elizabeth Olsen can also be seen in Ultron, which had a budget of over $250 million, The Telegraph reported.
