Jay Z is doing all he can to make his new streaming service, Tidal, a success. In an attempt to show potential subscribers what type of perks they would get when joining, he’s giving a free concert in New York exclusively for Tidal users.
The concert, called Tidal X: Jay Z B-Sides, will take place at an “intimate” venue in New York City that has yet to be announced.
According to Rolling Stone, Jay Z will perform songs he’s never performed onstage or in the past ten years or so.
As Tidal outlines, Jay Z is asking subscribers to make a playlist and post it with the hashtag #TIDALXJAYZ. Winners will get two tickets to the show.
However, viewing the concert online is still an option if you’re a Tidal subscriber.
In a series of tweets, Jay Z defended Tidal and assured critics they’re “doing just fine.”
“We are here for the long haul. Please give us a chance to grow & get better,” he wrote in part. "We made Tidal for fans. We have more than just music. We have video, exclusive concerts, tickets for events early, live sports!..."
