Federal authorities have said that a Kansas man allegedly planned to bomb Fort Riley to show his support for Islamic State.

The Associated Press noted that John T. Booker, of Topeka, was taken into custody Friday. Court documents said that he was arrested while allegedly trying to load what he thought was a large bomb into a truck.

The 20-year-old was actually recruited to join the armed forces, but showed up on the FBI’s radar when he allegedly wrote this online post: "Getting ready to be killed in jihad is a HUGE adrenaline rush! I am so nervous. NOT because I'm scared to die but I am eager to meet my lord."

Federal agents got more word about Booker’s behavior from an informant he began meeting with last year, who said that Booker allegedly believed he would be following the Quran if he killed.

Bloomberg News reported that another informant posed as a sheikh and contacted Booker about a possible attack on American soil, which led to his arrest.

He has been charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to damage property by means of an explosive and attempting to provide material to support a terrorist group.
