Most artists would want to work with Apple for the exposure and the money that comes with it, but Kanye West rejected that opportunity. Considering the amount of exposure he already gets and the negative publicity that surrounded U2’s deal with Apple, that was probably a good move.

In an interview with The New York Times’ T Magazine, West claims that he rejected a “multimillion dollar offer” to work with the tech giant. He did not go into more detail about the potential deal. When The Verge asked for a comment from Apple, they declined to.

West probably made the best decision in the end. Apple’s last big artist deal was with U2, which reportedly made $100 million from it. But the deal included a free copy of their new album, Songs of Innocence, which caused complaints from people who don’t like U2.

It would have also likely prevented West from backing Jay Z’s TIDAL streaming service, since Apple has Beats Music.

West also revealed some other interesting nuggets in the Times interview, even comparing his ego to a marble table that he hates.
