Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll was arrested on Friday on suspicion of drug possession

The arrest happened at a Las Vegas resort swimming pool complex. Stoll was arrested because he was suspected to be in possession of cocaine and Ecstasy, or Molly, at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, according to CBS Los Angeles. Police notified NHL security of the arrest. Stoll has been released from custody after posting a $5,000 bail.

“We are aware of police reports out of Clark County, Nevada regarding Jarret Stoll,” the Kings said in a statement. “Our organization is concerned and has begun conducting a thorough internal investigation. While we continue to actively gather facts, we are withholding further comment at this time.”

In a statement to the Los Angeles Times, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said they are aware of Stoll’s arrest and will follow up on the allegations that have been made.

Stoll has been with the Kings since the 2008-09 season. This season he had six goals and 11 assists in 73 games, according to ESPN. The Kings failed to make the playoffs this season. Stoll helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014.

Stoll will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
