Lady Gaga will be receiving high honors at the upcoming Songwriters Hall of Fame gathering and is furthering her icon status within the music industry.

Seattle Pi reported that the "Poker Face" singer will be honored with the first Contemporary Icon Award at the event which will be taking place on June 18th in New York.

The award was created as a way to recognize an artist who has "attained an iconic status in pop culture." Gaga is known for her over the top creativity and hits that include, "Bad Romance," "Poker Face" and "Born This Way."

Gaga is not only focusing on creating new music, she is also making a move to the small screen. MTV added that Gaga will also be focusing on her acting career as she is starting in the next installment of American Horror Story.
