With Spider-Man moving to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's been a little unclear what the studio's take on the character would be compared to previous installments. Now Marvel President Kevin Feige is saying they will be putting an emphasis on the comedy for the next iteration of the character.

Feige said in an interview with IGN that even with the five existing movies, there are plenty of aspects of Spider-Man in the comics that have not yet been explored.

He mentioned Spider-Man's sense of humor, saying that when Spider-Man puts on the mask "he has a non-stop wit" which we haven't really seen in the movies yet. He made the comparison to Batman Begins, which did something with Batman that we had never seen before. Similar to that movie, Marvel hopes to give us a completely different Spider-Man than ever before.

Feige also reiterated that the movie won't tell Spider-Man's origin story, laughing and saying that people are very familiar with his origin by now.

The most recent Amazing Spider-Man films with Andrew Garfield did play with the comedy a little bit, especially with the opening of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but the character's comedy still definitely hasn't been emphasized as much in the films as in the comics. Seeing that realized on film should be pretty exciting.

This is another piece of Spider-Man info we've gotten recently, with Feige revealing a few days ago that the movie will feature Peter Parker and that he will be 15-16 years old, as we previously reported.

Spider-Man is expected to debut next year in Captain America: Civil War.
