Miranda Lambert may have won the most awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night, but she ended up losing the top prize to co-host Luke Bryan. Lambert’s husband, co-host Blake Shelton, came home empty handed. The only other multi-winner was Florida Georgia Line.
Lambert’s three wins came for Female Vocalist, Album of the Year for Platinum and Song of the Year for “Automatic.”
Bryan’s only win came for Entertainer of the Year, the night’s top prize. He was up for Song of the Year for “Drink A Beer.”
Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year, beating Bryan and Brad Paisley in that category. The Vocal Duo of the Year winner was Florida Georgia Line, while Little Big Town won Vocal Group.
The New Artist award went to Cole Swindell. Lee Brice took home Single Record of the Year, which goes to the writer, producer and label, for “I Don’t Dance.”
Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk on a Plane” won Video of the Year. The Vocal Event of the Year was Florida Georgia Line’s “This Is How We Roll,” which features Bryan.
According to People, the night also included a surprise appearance from Randy Travis, who suffered a stroke two years ago. Taylor Swift’s mom, who was diagnosed with cancer, took the stage to hand her famous daughter the milestone award. Lastly, Tara Kyle, the widow of American Sniper author Chris Kyle, introduced Garth Brooks’ performance.
