Kevin Kerslake's newest documentary I AM: The Life and Times of DJ AM, will be debuting at the Tribeca Film Festival and is focusing on the life of Adam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM.

Rolling Stone reported that the documentary will be focusing all aspects of DJ AM's life. Which includes psychological issues, his relationship with substances ranging from drug to alcohol and that he did try to take his own life. Goldstein died in August 28, 2009.

Kerslake opened up about why this project was so important to him and why he wanted to bring light to the personal struggles Goldstein had gone through. "I had lost a number of friends in the music and film industry to somewhat similar circumstances and when it's mixed with this tonic of fame and celebrity, it just becomes pretty deadly. I said [to myself], if I could do a film that not only celebrated his talents and his place in the universe, but also illuminated so many issues in a fairly meticulous way, then potentially it would help stop the bleeding. That’s the only way it's going to help the cause," detailed Kerslake.

New York Post added that his MTV reality show really accelerated his downward spiral. The reality show was Gone Too Far and featured other addicts receiving help for their problems.
