There are some places in Los Angeles where you might be able to avoid members of the Kardashian family. That’s because signs have popped up around the city that read “No Kardashian Parking Anytime.”

But are they real signs put up by the police? Of course not. They are the work of street artist Plastic Jesus.

As LA Weekly notes, Plastic Jesus has focused on the area around Kourtney, Kim and Khloe’s Dash boutique on Melrose Avenue. Others are located near The Ivy restaurant and the Urban Outfitters on the same street.

Plastic Jesus said that the signs are meant as a protest against the paparazzi that follow the Kardashians wherever they go.

“There is gridlock caused whenever one of the Kardashian family do simple basic things, shopping, eating out or pumping gas,” the artist told the BBC. “The Kardashians have become a media cultural phenomenon, sadly at the expense of real news.”

He also said that it isn’t a direct attack on the Kardashians, but really supposed to criticize the public and media for spending time focusing our attention on reality stars.

That might be the artist’s view, but the LAPD considers it vandalism, a spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter. But Plastic Jesus told the BBC that they don’t have to worry. He plans on removing them soon.

“The signs are only intended to be a temporary installation, like many other parking and driving signs around LA, they will be removed in the very near future,” the artist said.

Plastic Jesus gained international attention last year when he put an Oscar-like statue at the 2014 Academy Awards, showing the figure shooting up heroin. A plaque on the base read, “Hollywood’s Best Kept Secret.”
