Paul Walker's brother Cody Walker helped film some scenes for Furious 7, but now he plans to pursue a career in acting beyond just this film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 26-year-old Cody Walker is working with Paul Walker's manager Matt Luber to pursue a career in acting. Walker had no experience with acting before Furious 7.
In November 2013, actor Paul Walker was tragically killed in a car crash. This was in the midst of filming Furious 7, the latest film in the Fast and Furious series, and so Cody stepped in to finish some of Paul's scenes, as we previously reported. Caleb Walker also did some body double work, and CGI from WETA was utilized as well.
It's not quite clear if Cody Walker might go for a proper role in the next Fast and Furious film, but that would certainly make sense. Furious 7 will likely become one of the year's highest grossing films, expected to earn over $100 million at the box office this weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.
Cody Walker is also now brand manager of Reach Out Worldwide. This organization, which was founded by Paul Walker, provides help for emergency responders in disaster areas.
The latest Fast and Furious film has been called a touching tribute to Paul Walker. At the premiere of the movie, Cody said he felt anxious about everyone seeing the movie for the first time. He said seeing the film was bittersweet, but that he thought Paul would be proud of the finished product, according to People Magazine. The premiere became something of a tribute to Paul Walker, with Vin Diesel giving an emotional speech about appreciating every day with the ones we love.
Cody also said that after everything he feels a strong connection to the Fast and Furious crew and that they've all become family to him.
Furious 7 is now playing in theaters.
