As the royal family awaits the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second baby, Prince Charles is speaking out on which gender he prefers.

He already has one grandson, Prince George, 22 months, and he’s now hoping for a granddaughter.

While attending an event honoring the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, Prince Charles talked to a 100-year-old Welsh Guardsmen named Eric Jones about his unborn second grandchild.

Jones’ daughter, Lynda Bateman, told the Daily Mirror, "My father introduced me as his daughter and Prince Charles asked how many daughters he had. My father said 'One - and that's enough' and Charles laughed and said 'And we're hoping for a granddaughter!"'

When Duchess Kate and Prince William announced their second pregnancy in September, the future King of England echoed the same sentiments.

“It's wonderful to be a grandfather again," he said at the time. “I'm looking forward to it—but I hope it will be a girl this time."

The baby should arrive any day now, but in the meantime, the proud parents celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this week.
