More than a dozen students from an Indiana high school were injured when the stage in the school’s auditorium collapsed during the final act of a musical Thursday.

The Indianapolis Star reported that during the finale of the spring show "American Pie" at Westfield High School, the stage above the pit collapsed and injured 17 students.

Out of those injured one of the students was said to be in critical condition, however, as of Friday morning, WTHR noted that police said that person’s condition has improved. Many students have since been released from the hospital with various minor injuries. One student said he suffered a concussion.

Westfield Washington Schools Supt. Mark Keen said that despite the accident classes would resume on Friday and counselors would be available.

“They’re going to try to make it as normal a day as possible,” Keen said according to CBS Chicago. “A lot of these students have younger siblings in different schools, so everybody’s going to be dealing with this, not just the high school. Get them in there, get in the first period class, start talking it through.”
