An incredible new teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was shown at the end of an hour-long event to kick-off Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. A few more nuggets about the film were revealed during a discussion with J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and members of the cast before the trailer premiered.
The teaser lasts just under two minutes and is the first time we’ve seen footage since the 88-second teaser from November. As expected, it does feature our first look at members of the Original Trilogy cast. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is seen kneeling next to R2-D2, while a lightsaber is handed over to Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). At the very end, we see Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca walk into the Millenium Falcon.
“Chewie, we’re home,” Han says before Chewie roars.
There’s also some fantastic footage showing the new characters, played by Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and John Boyega. We still don’t see Adam Driver, which may cause some speculation out there that he’s the villain Kylo Renn (whose face is seen).
Also, C-3PO is still missing in action, although we do know he will be in the movie.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18.
