Former rap music mogul Suge Knight has been ordered to stand trial for murder and attempted murder charges in connection with a hit-and-run on Jan. 29. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen said Thursday that there is plenty of evidence to go forward with a trial.

Knight pleaded not guilty to the charges in February. He allegedly confronted Terry Carter, 55, and Cle Sloan, 51, at a Compton burger joint following an argument at the Straight Outta Compton film set. Knight ran over the men with his truck. Carter was killed and Sloan was seriously injured.

According to The Los Angeles Times, there is security camera footage that shows Knight running over the men. However, the Death Row Records co-founder’s attorney says that he was acting in self-defense because one of them attacked him.

Sloan was called to testify on Monday during a preliminary hearing. He refused to even positively identify Knight in the courtroom and said he would not be a “snitch.” Sloan also said he was a “nonactive gang member.”

“I don't want it to get misconstrued that I told on this man,” Sloan said Monday. “I'm no snitch. I will not be used to send Suge Knight to prison.”

Knight was being held on $25 million bail, but TMZ notes that the judge lowered that to $10 million. The site also reports that Knight was taken to the hospital after the hearing. He was also hospitalized after a bail hearing in March.
