The man believed to have fatally shot a print shot operator at a community college in North Carolina was arrested Tuesday in Florida.

USA Today noted that North Carolina police announced on Facebook that Kenneth Stancil III, was found sleeping on the beach in Daytona and taken into custody. Authorities said they found a knife on him.

As previously reported, Stancil is the man police sought for the shooting death of Ron Lane, who gunned down as he arrived to work at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro Monday morning.

Law enforcement officials said the suspect allegedly entered the school with a large firearm and made his way to where Lane was, leading investigators to believe the two men knew each other.

The college as well as a nearby school were placed on lockdown after the shooting. Classes resumed on Tuesday.

Stancil allegedly told police who he was when he was picked up and is currently being held without bail awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
