A fight on a basketball court Thursday night left one teen dead and two others injured in a stabbing. Now, the manhunt is on for the assailant.

According to WCVB, Brockton police and Massachusetts State Police issued an arrest warrant for the man they believed stabbed and killed 18-year-old Ywron Martins after a basketball game.

Authorities said the large fight with dozens of individuals broke out at James Edgar Playground around 6:30 p.m. and three people were stabbed. Martins died from his injuries at a local hospital and investigators are now looking for 24-year-old Anildo “Ace” Lopes Correia, who they believe is responsible for the fatal stabbing.

“Police and the Motorcycle patrols had already been stepped up as I was informed there were some issues in the neighborhood last week and despite the increase we still had this tragic event,” Brockton city councilor Thomas Monahan said in a statement on Facebook.

Brockton is a little less than 30 miles outside of Boston and is often referred to as the “City of Champions.”
