A college professor at Texas A&M in Galveston, Texas reportedly got so fed up with his class that he failed every single student and quit teaching the class.

According to CBS Houston, Professor Irwin Horwitz sent an e-mail to his students, telling them they were disgraceful to the school and that rumors had been started about his wife online. He also apparently felt threatened enough for the school to “put security guards at that class and another class.”

KPRC reported the class he taught was a Special Management class and that he claimed the students did not exhibit the maturity needed to be in the workforce.

A senior named John Shaw was very surprised to receive the e-mail, saying that, “I had never had a problem in that class.” He was concerned that because of the grades, it could affect a job that he had obtained for after graduation.

However, Dr. Patrick Louchouarn, who is the university’s vice president of academic affairs, said they would not uphold the grades Horwitz is claiming to give the students.

He told KPRC, “None of them have failed until the end of the class, meaning the only reason a student would fail is because he or she has not performed the expectations for that particular class.”

The head of the department would be a replacement for Horwitz until the semester is over.
