Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters in the United States in just a few days, but we're already hearing about what will be included on the home release of the film.
According to ScreenCrush, the Age of Ultron DVD will include an extended edition and alternate ending.
This will be the first Marvel movie with an extended edition, and it should be pretty signfiicant. According to Vulture, Whedon's first cut of Ultron was three and a half hours long. That's over an hour longer than the final cut, which clocks in at 2 hours and 21 minutes.
That's a pretty significant amount of footage, though it's likely the actual extended cut won't run the full three and a half hours. According to Whedon's interview with Vulture though, Whedon said there's one or two things he's unhappy didn't make the final cut, though he considers them relatively small.
Who knows what the alternate ending will be, though it probably can't be anything too drastic that would affect the overall cinematic universe. The original Avengers' home media release also included an alternate ending as well as an alternate opening, the latter of which involved Maria Hill in a flash-forward giving an interview about the final battle and the damage it caused.
Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1st.
