A toddler in Ohio is in stable condition after suffering injuries when he fell into an exhibit while visiting the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

According to Fox News Insider, the 2-year-old child was being dangled over the cheetah exhibit when he slipped out of his mother’s hold and fell 10 feet. While he did have a leg injury, his parents were able to pull him back to safety. None of the cheetahs approached him.

Dr. Christopher Kuhar, who is the executive director of the zoo said, “Unfortunately, we have a number of eyewitness’ accounts that point to the strong likelihood that the child was dangled over the rail.”

CNN reported that officials at the zoo might press charges for child endangerment against the parents. When the fire crews arrived, he had already been removed from the pit.

Neither the child nor his parents have been identified by name.

Cheetahs are recognizable due to having round block dots all over their fur and they are also the world’s fastest animal on land.
