The ride-sharing app Uber has made headlines again after a driver allegedly tried to break into the home of his female passenger.
The Denver Post reported that Gerald Montgomery, 51, was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of trying to rob the house of a woman he had just taken to the airport. However, her roommate was home and allegedly caught him in the act.
The woman said that after she noticed him she asked what he was doing and he told her that he was a friend of her roommate. Her roommate called her though and said he matched the description of her Uber driver.
Montgomery then allegedly fled the scene, but was later taken into custody for attempted second-degree burglary.
“Upon learning about this incident from our valued rider, we immediately deactivated the driver’s access to the platform, pending a full investigation,” Uber spokesman, Taylor Patterson, said in a statement to TIME. “We remain committed to supporting Denver law enforcement in any way we can.”
