Warner Bros. Pan starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara and Amanda Seyfried, has been pushed back from it's originally release date of July 24, 2015 to October 9, 2015.

Variety reported that the reason for the move was that the studio wanted to open the film during a less crowded fall schedule, compared to the summer which features a variety of blockbusters from Avengers: Age of Ultron to Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation.

WB distribution exec Dan Fellman further explained the reason for the change in release dates, "We wanted to give ‘Pan’ the space to extend its theatrical run, so taking it out of the cluttered summer season made the most sense," said Fellman.

Deadline also added that the film required more time to work on the visual effects.

"As you might expect, the fantastical story of Peter Pan involves very complex effects, and I did not want to compromise on quality in finishing the film,” said Director Joe Wright. "This allows me and my team the time to complete the movie and tell the story the way it should be told.”
