One Direction has one of the most powerful and active fan bases on Twitter and Zayn Malik is feeling that fan power after he lost 50,000 Twitter followers.
Contact Music reported that the major decline in social media fans started once a previously unreleased solo track of Malik was put online.
TMZ added that members of One Direction did explain that they are still talking with Malik but they are ready to move forward and continue their band as a foursome. The band will continue their tour and is planning a new album without Malik. Their tour will arrive in the United States starting in July.
One Direction has already removed Malik from their introduction video that plays before their concert series 'On the Road Again.'
The new video debuted before the band took the stage for their Saturday show in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Malik still has over 14.6 million followers.
