Authorities have said that five family members were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide inside their Tucson, Arizona home.

The Associated Press reported that investigators have said Christopher Carrillo, 25, fatally shot Raul Carillo, 58, Karen Saari, 53, Erik Carrillo, 32, and 17-year-old Isela Rodriguez, before turning the gun on himself.

Tucson News Now noted that the bodies were discovered Tuesday by a friend who went to the house around 6 p.m. local time and uncovered the grisly scene. He immediately called the police.

The house, where the shooting is believed to have occurred, is situated in a blue-collared neighborhood on the south side of Tucson.

Police Chief Villasenor said that authorities had been out to the home in the past, but did not say why.

"We have been at the location before but as far as the total history, we are just starting now to gather it,” he said. “Obviously that is something that we look at any previous contacts.”
