There wasn’t a dry eye in a Waffle House in Prattville, Alabama a few weeks ago when 5-year-old Josiah Duncan asked his mom if they could buy a homeless man a meal.
After seeing the man standing outside he asked his mom, Ava Faulk, why he was dirty and holding one single bag and she explained to him that he was homeless.
“What does that mean?" he asked her and she replied, "Well, that means he doesn't have a home.”
This concerned Duncan, who’s mom told WSFA12 he then asked a series of questions, "Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?"
The boy and his mom then agreed to buy him a meal when he came inside and sat down.
“He came in and sat down, and nobody really waited on him. So Josiah jumped up and asked him if he needed a menu because you can't order without one,” Faulk explained.
When he first asked for something cheap, she insisted on buying him whatever he wanted. He asked for bacon, and got as much as he wanted.
When Duncan insisted on saying their prayers before the man ate, everyone in the restaurant looked on and wept. “The man cried. I cried. Everybody cried,” said Faulk.
