Amy Schumer, who is bound to become an even bigger star once Trainwreck hits theaters, has joined a 20th Century Fox comedy that Paul Feig is co-producing.
The mother-daughter comedy was first written by Katie Dippold, who wrote The Heat and is working on Feig’s Ghostbusters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schumer has signed on to co-write a new draft with her sister, Kim Caramele, who has worked on Inside Amy Schumer.
TheWrap reports that Feig and Jessie Henderson will co-produce under the Feigco Entertainment banner with Chernin Entertainment. Dippold is an executive producer. There is no director set.
The plot for the film isn’t known, but a THR source says that it is about a mother and daughter who go on a terrible vacation.
Schumer currently stars on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer and will be seen on the big screen in Trainwreck, which she wrote and Judd Apatow directed. The film, which we saw at SXSW, hits theaters on July 17. She’s also scored a HBO special, which Chris Rock will direct.
As for Feig, his latest, Spy with Melissa McCarthy, opens on June 5.
