Ever wonder what a movie that combines Godzilla with Lost In Translation might be like? Well, we will soon find out if Colossal, a movie Anne Hathaway is now attached to, comes to fruition.

Colossal will be written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) and finds the Oscar-winning actress as Gloria. She just lost her job, she she and her fiance move back to her hometown. Even though she’s a world away from Tokyo, when a giant lizard monster starts destroying that city, she discovers an odd link she has with the screature. To stop the lizard’s rampage, she will have to figure out the connection.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colossal will be completely financed by Voltage Pictures, which is selling distribution rights at the Cannes Film MArket. CAA will handle domestic distribution sales.

Colossal is my most ambitious script so far, and probably also the most personal one. Having Anne and this terrific team around goes beyond my craziest expectations,” Vigalondo said in a statement, notes Entertainment Weekly.

Hathaway was recently seen in Interstellar and has just finished Nancy Myers’ The Intern, which opens on Sept. 25.
