We heard it a few weeks ago and now we’re hearing it again. Asa Butterfield is still Marvel and Sony’s top pick for the new Spider-Man.

Butterfield has been in the mix for weeks and a report on April 29 suggested that he had moved up to the top pick. Now, Latino Review is reporting that Butterfield is in talks. Apparently, we’re just waiting on an official announcement from Marvel.

However, Deadline reports that the Ender’s Game and Hugo star is still one of five actors being considered for the part. (According to last month's report, the actors also on the list were Nat Wolff, Liam James, Timothee Chalamet and Tom Holland.)

The new Spidey is expected to debut in Captain America: Civil War, although Marvel didn’t mention the character last week when the studio announced the rest of that film’s cast.

Butterfield is 18, although he does look much younger. Casting the British actor would follow Marvel’s plans to have a younger Spidey who is still in high school.

Again, this is all rumors until Marvel makes it official.
