A lawyer for rap artist 50 Cent has denied his client’s involvement of robbing a man at gunpoint, beating him and taking his jewelry in Las Vegas during fight weekend.
TMZ reported that the rapper and his bodyguards had been accused of robbing LAX Jewelry Co. owner Robert Marin of $250,000 in jewelry on May 2.
According to Marin, he said he met 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, at Drai's Nightclub and was invited to see Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s gym. Upon his arrival, he claims he was pistol whipped by two members of Jackson’s crew and his watch and chain were stolen.
Marin had minor injuries when he filed a complaint after the alleged attack the morning before the Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight.
However, as the Associated Press noted, the musician’s attorney has denied that the 39-year-old and his crew were involved in the alleged incident.
"On behalf of 50, I can adamantly deny that he or his security had anything to do with these baseless and false allegations," his lawyer Scott Leemon said on Tuesday.
