A body was found floating in the Hudson River and it may be the body of a missing kayaker who was presumed murdered by his fiancé.

According to Fox News, Angelika Graswald reported her fiancé, 46-year-old Vincent Viafore, missing in April when the couple went on a kayaking trip that turned deadly when she claimed his kayak capsized in the river.

However, she has been charged with second-degree murder according to allegations that she made incriminating statements after his death.

Graswald was the beneficiary in two life insurance policies belonging to her fiancé, which could have given her $250,000, Assistant District Attorney Julie Mohl said. Graswald also apparently, “talked about what she could do with the money” after he went missing.

“She stated that she tampered with the victim’s kayak,” Mohl said. “She knew it would contribute to his death.”

The body was spotted by a boater and was recovered in Cornwall near a yacht club, CBS News reports.

According to Mohl, Graswald also told the authorities that she “felt happiness and relief” when she watched him go into the water. She said, “it felt good knowing he was going to die.”
