The bystander, who called the police after George Zimmerman was shot, spoke about Matthew Apperson’s demeanor and what he said after the shooting.
ABC News noted that Ken Cornell said that Apperson looked “visibly shaken” when he ran up to his car yelling, "Please call 911 ... I just shot George Zimmerman."
Cornell said Apperson also told him that he shot Zimmerman after he flashed a gun at him.
Cornell’s details coincide with what Apperson’s attorney Mark NeJame, said about his client shooting Zimmerman in self-defense and then calling for help.
Zimmerman’s lawyer Don West, however, claims that their version of events are untrue and said that Apperson was acting erractic and pulled up to Zimmerman in a threatening manner. He then claims that when Zimmerman tried to pull away Apperson fired a shot into his vehicle.
He added that Zimmerman never brandished his gun.
As previously reported, the shooting occurred Monday in the Florida town of Lake Mary. An investigation is currently underway and no arrests have been made.
Zimmerman made headlines years ago for the shooting death and eventual acquittal of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Since he was found not guilty he has been accused of domestic violence, making threats with a firearm and pulled over for traffic violations.
