Actors Cate Blanchett and Miranda Cosgrove are celebrating their birthdays today, May 14.

Cate Blanchett, 46

Film and theater actress Cate Blanchett turns 46 today. Blanchett started her career in theater in the early '90s. She had roles in numerous productions including Electra, Top Girls, Hamlet, The Tempest and The Seagull.

Blanchett made her film debut in Paradise Road in 1997 alongside Glenn Close and Frances McDormand. She gained critical acclaim for her role as Elizabeth I of England in the 1998 film Elizabeth. She won the BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress and received an Academy Award nomination. She reprised her role for Elizabeth: The Golden Age, earning yet another Academy Award nomination.

Blanchett continued to have notable role in films including The Lord of the Rings trilogy as well as The Hobbit trilogy, I'm Not There, in which she portrayed Jude Quinn, an adaptation of singer-songwriter, artist and writer Bob Dylan, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Aviator and Hanna.

Blanchett earned the Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG and BAFTA Award for her role in Blue Jasmine. She most recently starred in the sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 and the live-action remake of Cinderella. Blanchett will voice the python Kaa in the Jungle Book: Origins which is scheduled for release October 2017. She is married to Australian playwright, screenwriter, and director Andrew Upton and has four children.

Miranda Cosgrove, 22

Actress and singer Miranda Cosgrove turns 22 today. Cosgrove began her career making appearances in television commercials. She made her film debut in 2003 in School of Rock alongside Jack Black.

Cosgrove transitioned into television, landing a role on the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh. She went on to make television appearances in What's New, Scooby-Doo? and Grounded for Life. She also continued her film career, appearing in Yours, Mine and Ours and Keeping Up with the Steins.

In 2007, Cosgrove landed her own Nickelodeon series iCarly which ran until 2012. While doing iCarly, Cosgrove also transitioned into a music career, releasing the singles "Stay My Baby" and "About You Now." She released her debut album, Sparks Fly in 2010. The single, "Kissin U," peaked at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Cosgrove chose to continue acting, voicing the character Margo for the animated film Despicable Me and reprising the role for Despicable Me 2. She most recently starred in the direct-to-DVD thriller The Intruders and has been cast in the upcoming NBC comedy series Crowded.
