After a disappointing Memorial Day box office, leave it to The Rock to shake things back up. This weekend will feature the release of San Andreas, an action packed disaster film which featured Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the leading role.

The Hollywood Reporter added that early box office predictions have the movie opening around the $40 million mark. The movie will open in 3,777 theaters and a majority of those showings will be in 3-D. Andreas cost $110 million to produce, Warners and Village Roadshow co-financed and co-produced the project.

Andreas will also be making its debut overseas in 60 markets and on 13,000 screens, Variety reported.

The competition for San Andreas looks like Disney's Tomorrowland and Pitch Perfect 2, also opening this weekend is Cameron Crowe's Aloha which is on pace to take in around $12 million. Aloha stars Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams.
