Will Gluck struck out pretty hard as both a writer and director with last year's Annie, but that won't take him away from future family-orientated projects just yet, it seems. The Easy A director signed on to make Disney's untitled lottery film.

Initially titled Lucky Guy, Gluck took over the now female-oriented film, which centers on an unlucky woman whose bad luck continues when everyone in her town wins the lottery except her. But her misfortune unexpectedly comes to her advantage when she must overtake the town from ruin. Gluck oversees, as THR reports, Martin Hynes' rewrite on the new movie.

Dan Lin, a producer on The Lego Movie, also works on this untitled movie between work on The Lego Movie Sequel, Ninjago, an untitled Lego Batman movie, The Billion Brick Race, Jonny Quest and many more upcoming films. Meanwhile, Lin Pictures' Mark Bauch executive produces, and Tendo Nagenda oversees for the studio.

It's encouraging to hear Disney believing in this project more as a female-led vehicle than a male-driven one, although the basic story itself seems particularly gender-neutral. After their success this year with Cinderella and last weekend's Tomorrowland, it appears Disney has taken note again and hopefully this continues beyond this project.
