Now that Warner Bros., director David Yates and writer J.K. Rowling have their Newt Scamander, they are getting busy looking for the two female leads in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

The studio hasn’t even focused on a particular actress for the roles, but a source told TheWrap that Warner Bros. is down to a handful of young actress.

Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol are being considered for Queenie. The actress being considered for Tina, Queenie’s older sister, are Katherine Waterston, Kate Upton and Elizabeth Debicki.

Since the first Fantastic Beasts isn’t going to hit theaters until November 2018, the film is only in the very early stages of development. Redmayne is still in talks and the studio hasn’t officially announced anyone for the cast.

The film is Rowling’s first original screenplay. However, it is set in the Harry Potter universe and will show Scamander writing the titular Hogwarts textbook.

Simmons currently stars on Cinemax’s Banshee, while Sudol is a musician who was just seen in USA Network’s DIG. Waterston gave a breakthrough performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice. Debicki’s breakthrough came in The Great Gatsby and will be seen in The Man from UNCLE.

Upton is still best known as a model and is trying to break into acting. She just starred in The Other Woman and is making an indie called The Layover right now. Obviously, getting into Fantastic Beasts would do wonders for her career.
