On the 15th day of deliberations, jurors in the Etan Patz case said they still cannot agree on a verdict and told the judge that they are deadlocked again.

The Wall Street Journal reported that jurors sent Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley a note around 12:20 p.m. informing him of the matter.

“We the jury would like the court to know that after serious, significant and thorough deliberations we remain unable to reach a unanimous decision,” the note read.

As previously reported, just days earlier the jury of five men and seven women said that they could not come to a unanimous decision to which Justice Wiley gave an Allen charge. He told them to continue deliberating and try again to reach a verdict.

This time Wiley asked them to give it one more try.

"I'd like you to keep deliberating," he said. "I am not asking any of you to violate your conscience or abandon your best judgement."

The jury has been deliberating on whether or not to convict Pedro Hernandez, 54, of the 1979 murder of 6-year-old Patz. Hernandez confessed to the murder in 2012, but later retracted those statements. His lawyers said that he has a very low IQ and suffers from mental health issues.

Patz was the first missing to child to ever be pictured on a milk carton.
