In the ongoing battle among fast food chains to get healthier to entice more customers, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. is going the other direction... far in the other direction. The chains, which are owned by CKE Restaurants, is about to introduce the “Most American Thickburger.”

The burger, which was teased last week, is more of a full day’s worth of food in one sandwich. It will have a beef patty and a split hot dog on top of a layer of Lay’s kettle cooked potato chips. In between, there is ketchup, mustard, tomato, American cheese (of course), pickles and red onion.

“The hot dog is like a smoked meat product, so it’s not unlike bacon,” Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of CKE Restaurants, told The Associated Press. “We’ve had this idea, believe it or not, for a long time.”

The heart-attack-on-a-bun will cost $5.79 or $8.29 with fries and soda. There’s 1,030 calories and 64 grams of fat packed into it.

The “Most American Thickburger” will be at Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. locations on May 20.
