Expendables 3 was the lowest-grossing movie in Sylvester Stallone’s action movie retirement village series, but it made a crap load of money overseas, so a fourth one is in the works. The villain in that fourth one might just another ageing star, this time one from the ring.
While at a Q&A session at the Body Pro Expo in England, Hulk Hogan said that he spoke with Stallone about making Expendables 4 and playing the villain. He would apparently play the “most evil man in the world.”
“Was talking on the phone with Sly [Stallone] about doing The Expendables 4,” Hogan said, reports Uproxx. “We’re trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world. Y’know, Stallone gave me my first break and he’s been a great friend. We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out.”
Hogan and Stallone have a long friendship, going back to the ‘80s. In 1982, Hogan got his first movie gig in Rocky III.
As for the Expendables franchise, Lionsgate is probably going to move ahead with a fourth movie, even though the third was a flop in North America after it was leaked online. It wound up making just $39.3 million at home, but grossed a whopping $166.8 million from foreign territories (including $72.8 million from China alone).
